Northern Neuroscience is a modern, friendly and efficient private neurology practice operating within NSW's largest and most comprehensive private hospital, the Sydney Adventist Hospital (The San) in Wahroonga. As a group practice of neurologists with extensive subspecialty expertise and interests, and similar styles of practice we cover all aspects of neurological conditions, giving excellent service with continuity of care and early assessment of urgent problems.

Northern Neuroscience will facilitate appointments for patients requiring urgent assessment if specifically requested by your referring doctor, usually via a phone call or fax from your doctor letting us know the reasons for urgency.

Neurologists are doctors who specialize in the brain and the nervous system. We diagnose and treat conditions like stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, dementia, multiple sclerosis, migraine and other headaches, neuropathy and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Neurologists do not perform surgery. If surgery is needed we will refer to a specialist neurosurgeon.

Our neurologists are affiliated with public and private teaching hospitals across Sydney, with admitting and consulting rights at Sydney Adventist Hospital, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, the Mater Hospital, Mt Wilga Hospital, Lady Davidson Hospital.

Northern Neuroscience is integrated with Sydney University's Medical School. Professor John Watson is Associate Dean and Head of the University's Clinical School at the Sydney Adventist Hospital. We are involved in the regular teaching of Medical Registrars, Interns and Advanced Trainees in Neurology. With your consent a medical student or junior doctor may be present at your consultation.

Many of the clinicians at Northern Neuroscience are actively involved in research undertaken by Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAH) and the Sydney Adventist Hospital Clinical School.
