Dan completed his training as a psychologist at Monash University and has had over 15 years working within the child protection and welfare services and specifically, with children and young people who have experienced severe trauma or neglect. His primary responsibilities focused on helping these young people to develop skills and strategies to manage the impact of complex trauma. Dan believes that one of the most important things in helping young people who face stressful and challenging life circumstances is to work towards constructing a secure and trusting partnership. Dan has a particular interest in the field of complex trauma and behavior support planning. Dan uses a range of evidence-based practices that include Dialectical behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Solutions Focused Brief Therapy, Good Lives and positive behavior support practice. Dan is passionate about mountain biking and exercise, being a husband and father and ensuring an appropriate balance between all aspects of his life.
