Application – Entry Criteria

Candidates are selected as a result of an application process. Candidates must be registered as medical practitioners with AHPRA. Candidates must have a minimum of five years’ post graduate experience in Clinical Medicine or Surgery, (excludes Medical Administration and Psychiatry). All applications must be deemed appropriate and acceptable at the discretion of the ACCS. Program

This program comprises compulsory practical workshops, attendance at accredited conferences and meetings, online training modules, mentorship and examinations. A presentation at the College’s annual conference. The production of a clinical research paper or review article for publication to a journal acceptable to the College. The course requirements can be achieved over eighteen months. Any extension of time will only be granted in exceptional circumstances as approved by the ACCS Council.

Modules include, injectables, laser, dermatological and skin care. Modules can be completed separately or together as part of the Medical Registrar Program. Conferences

Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery Annual meeting (Cosmetex)

The above must be attended during training. Mentors

Each candidate will be assigned a mentor who will be available to provide training, assistance and advice as required. Log Books

Log books must be kept of all procedures showing;

   Date of procedure
   Nature of procedure
   Place of procedure
   Role - Primary physician/ assistant/observer
   Complications
   Result

Examinations

Candidates who successfully complete all other elements will be invited to sit the final examination. The examination may consist of a Written MCQ type examination, practical examination and a viva voce examination. Once successful completion of all elements is achieved, you will be invited to apply for Fellowship with the College. CME

Maintenance of the Program will require adherence to and completion of the College CME and Recertification Program and observance of College Constitution and By-Laws as amended from time to time. Membership must be maintained with the College and members agree to be bound by the ACCS Constitution and By Laws.
