Dr Vikram Goel is a Queensland trained Psychiatrist and a Fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. He has both General and Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia. After graduating from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital in Punjab, India, Dr Goel completed the Australian Medical Council (AMC) examinations and then undertook specialist Psychiatric training in Queensland.
He has worked within Queensland's Public Mental Health Service for the last 14 years, initially as a House Officer and a trainee, and subsequently as a full-time Staff Specialist Psychiatrist leading a multidisciplinary team at The Park – Centre for Mental Health Treatment and Research. Now in a part-time role with Qld Health, he works as a Staff Specialist within the Queensland Forensic Mental Health system and as a Visiting Medical Officer (Psychiatrist) at the Greenslopes Private Hospital.
Dr Goel has interests in treating Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Adjustment Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Psychotic Disorders. He has special interest in the treatment of Psychiatric Morbidity in Chronic Pain and other Illnesses, PTSD, Old Age Psychiatry, Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) and Neurofeedback techniques. Dr Goel accepts WorkCover, DVA and other third party cases for treatment and medico-legal purposes. Dr Goel is also GEPI trained and PIRS trained.
