Simone is a Paediatric Neurologist who trained in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. As a result of intensive training as a child neurologist in the Harvard University-affiliated residency program, she has deep clinical experience in diagnosing and treating children with neurological conditions such as epilepsy and seizures, headaches, migraine, movement and developmental disorders, genetic conditions affecting neurological function, tumours of the nervous system, and many others.
Simone has practiced clinically in paediatric neurology for over 15 years in Australia and the USA. Simone is a Senior Staff Specialist at Children’s Hospital Westmead Department of Neurology. She was awarded a PhD by the University of Sydney for her work on neurofibromatosis in children, understanding quality of life and evaluating new treatments for tumours.
Simone convenes epilepsy training for paediatric specialists in Australia and New Zealand, delivering the British Paediatric Neurology Association’s Paediatric Epilepsy Training program. She also serves on the BPNA faculty’s program review working group.
Simone is passionate about working with children and families to live their best lives, and strongly believes in the great outcomes that result when kids, parents and medical professionals form a strong mutually respectful team.
