Dr Simon Durrant is a Haematologist with HOCA at The Wesley Hospital. Dr Durrant is also the Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and an Associate Professor with the University of Queensland.
Dr Durrant trained at Charing Cross Hospital Medical School, University of London, spending most of his career as a Haematologist in hospitals across the UK until moving to Australia in 1991. Dr Durrant is a respected and successful Haematologist, as well as an accomplished researcher who has lectured extensively across his entire career.
Dr Durrant has numerous committee appointments including Medical Adviser for the UK Thalassaemia Society, Alternative Donor and Stem Cell Sources Committee of the International Bone Marrow Transplant Registry, Scientific Advisory Committee Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry, Australian Bone Marrow Transplant Research Group, Australian Leukaemia Study Group and is on the University of Queensland’s Medical Curriculum Sub-Committees for both Basic Medical Science and Haematology
