I trained in the UK at world class internationally renowned breast units, during which time I gained extensive experience in reconstructive breast surgical techniques, then worked as a consultant breast surgeon in the UK for five years. I moved to Australia in 2006 and now enjoy living and working in Ballarat where I have embraced the Australian way of life.
I am able to offer surgery to patients in Ballarat and Ararat in both the public and private sectors.
My Interests: general surgical patients for Thyroid, Hernia, Varicose veins, Cholecystectomy, Carpal Tunnel, minor skin lesions, anal problems, Colonoscopy and Gastroscopy. And all breast surgery patients for breast cancer, reconstruction, and breast reduction, as well as cosmetic breast improvement operations including nipple reconstruction, nipple tattooing, and breast augmentation.
My Point of difference: I am trained in the Oncoplastic approach to treating Breast cancers (using advanced plastic surgical techniques to maximise cosmetic outcomes in breast conservation surgery) therefore able to offer patients more options, which can be less invasive, less expensive, and less traumatic for the patient. I also use a Multidisciplinary team delivery of care, which is vital to better cancer patient outcomes and is an important part of my surgical practice. I am the only Grampians based surgeon with Advanced Scope of Breast Practice credentialing.
Patient Focus: I offer an empathetic patient centred surgical practice, and have an interest in women with family history and genetic issues, and link with regional genetics services to prevent and treat breast cancer.
