Dr Peter Bulllpitt (BSc, MBBS, FRCPA) is a senior Australian histopathologist and dermatopathologist.
Peter graduated Medicine with Honours from the University of Queensland. He trained in pathology at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, being awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 1979. For 33 years from 1980 to 2012, Peter served as a Staff Specialist and Senior Staff Specialist in Anatomical Pathology at the Prince of Wales Hospital at Randwick in Sydney. He developed interests in cutaneous, ophthalmic and gastrointestinal pathology which he maintains to this day.
Peter is a Member of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, an Honorary Member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, a Member of the Australasian Dermatopathology Society and a Member of the International Academy of Pathology (Australasian Division). He enjoys teaching others in pathology, having taught generations of Pathology Registrars in Surgical Pathology and Autopsy technique on a daily basis, as well as conducted weekly tutorials for Dermatology and Pathology Registrars in Dermatopathology and General Surgical Pathology around a multiheaded microscope.
Since 2011, Peter has worked with his Kossard Dermatopathologist colleague Dr Kerry Crotty at the Specialist Dermatopathology CPC Path Laboratory in Sydney; initially in a part-time and later in a full-time capacity. When the opportunity recently arose for CPC Path to join the new Kossard Dermatopathologists Laboratory, Peter was delighted to continue his collaboration with Dr Crotty and join his other new and renewed Dermatopathologist colleagues at Kossard Dermatopathologists.
