Meet Nova Nova has a distinguished career in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, having trained extensively in Australia and internationally. Background Nova graduated from the University of Melbourne in Dentistry and Medicine with honours and trained in the Victorian Oral and Maxillofacial training programme – gaining fellowship in 2007 plus fellowship in Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons, England. Nova spent eight years training in the Victorian Oral and Maxillofacial surgical training program at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Hospital, the Austin and Alfred Hospital. Nova spent five years training in the UK, including the prestigious John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford as a fellow. Since completing training, Nova’s career has included working at the Austin Hospital, Monash Health as well as private practice. Nova is a regular lecturer for general and specialist medical and dental organisations, and examines dental students at the University of Melbourne. She was also the Supervisor of Training for Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons at Monash Health. The Nova Touch Apart from Nova’s significant surgical and diagnostic skills and experience, Nova’s caring nature makes her an empathetic and nurturing practitioner that provides hands-on and personalized care. In Nova’s words “I very much enjoy the variety of patient care that we offer – from removal of teeth to complex facial remodeling. My mandate is to work seamlessly with patient’s dentists and other specialists to ensure patients have the very best surgical plan that will meet their individual needs. I also value and gain so much from teaching; hence my interest to continue to work with students and provide lectures to specialist medical and dental organisations”.
