Melissa graduated from her undergraduate degree in Science (Pharmacology) from UNSW in 1997 before a brief period working in the Pharmaceutical Industry. She then went on to study Medicine at The University of Queensland and commenced work as a Medical Practitioner in January 2006. General Practice was chosen by Melissa as her career direction due to the excellent range of clinical challenge as well as the balance that it represented for her with her family. She completed her Fellowship in 2010 and enjoys practicing Medicine in Regional NSW because of the scope of the Medicine being practiced in rural areas, and the down to earth nature of the people living in the community.
