After completing the AMC exams for overseas graduates, Dr. Maria Opacic worked at Royal North Shore Hospital for 2 years. She then undertook postgraduate training in general practice, completing her RACGP Fellowship exam in 1996. Dr. Opacic has been a practicing GP in the Eastern Suburbs since 1993 and at Ocean Medical since 1998, establishing herself as one of the most trusted and respected GPs in the area. She has been a GP advisor for Women’s Health and Pregnancy GP Shared Care at the Royal Hospital for Women over a period of ten years. She has an interest in all aspects of general practice, including pregnancy, newborn care, weight management, men’s health issues as well as complex chronic disease management. In her free time, Dr. Opacic enjoys her time with family and friends, reading, philosophy and meditation.
