Associate Professor Jonathan Ramsay is a consultant Radiation Oncologist at Icon Group Greenslopes and Redland as well as Mater Centre South Brisbane.
In 2007 Dr Ramsay and two of his colleagues founded Radiation Oncology Queensland, now Icon Group and is still a consulting radiation oncologist at its centres. He was previously a Director of Icon Group which is the major provider of cancer treatment in Australia .
Dr Ramsay completed his undergraduate research in the United Kingdom, achieving a medical degree at the University of Bristol and pursued postgraduate study at the University of London. Prior to working in Australia, Dr Ramsay held a position for four years as clinical scientist with the University of Cambridge, and for two years as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School in the United States of America.
He continued to have an interest in clinical and basic research establishing a laboratory at QIMR in 1993.In 2000 he was involved in the start up of Peplin Biotechnology which developed successful treatments for skin cancers. His clinical practice has been based in South Brisbane since 1994.
He has an active role in teaching and mentoring through the University of Queensland and holds the title of Associate Professor . He has been a Director of Training for the College of Radiologists .
Dr Ramsay’s special interests include the treatment of breast,gynaecological and skin cancers
