Dr Cullen has a special interest in operative laparoscopy and endometriosis surgery; a major part of his private practice. This specialty was initially nurtured by a preceptorship with Prof Carl Wood in the early 1990s.

This interest has allowed the provision of a laparoscopic endometriosis management and fertility surgery in Bendigo and Central Victoria and led to the establishment of Monash IVF in Bendigo in 1991.

Dr Cullen is the Clinical Director Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The Bendigo Hospital and holds visiting medical officer appointments in O&G at St John of God Private Hospital Bendigo and The Bendigo Private Day Centre. He is also a visiting gynaecologist at the Echuca District Hospital and the Epworth Hospital Richmond.

Dr Cullen is the Coordinator and Lecturer of O&G student teaching for Monash University Medical School Bendigo Campus and a past Bendigo RANZCOG Training Supervisor.
