Dr Deepali Shirkhedkar is a specialist Endocrinologist visiting the Sunshine Coast from the Brisbane area. She has been practising in the field of Endocrinology for over 5 years.
She completed her endocrine and physician training in Sydney. She spent two years working at St Vincent's Hospital mainly in diabetes management and research. She also gained immense experience in bone and mineral metabolism and obesity management at Concord Hospital and wide variety of endocrine experience including endocrine work up for infertility at Westmead Hospital.
Currently she works at Redcliffe Hospital as Staff Specialist after she moved from NSW to Queensland in 2011.
She has had extensive experience in the management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, Gestational diabetes, Thyroid disorders, medical management and post-surgical follow-up of Pituitary disorders.
As an endocrinologist plus metabolic physician her area of expertise also includes treatment of lipid disorders, polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and osteoporosis.
Dr Shirkhedkar obtained her basic medical qualification in India in 1996 and moved to Australia with her paediatrician husband in 2000. They have two sons.
