Dr Bruce Lewis is a Paediatrician who practices across all areas of general paediatrics with a focus on newborn and infant medicine within The Wesley Hospital. He has a special interest in neonatology, general paediatrics, newborns and pre-term births.
Dr Lewis completed his studies at the University of Queensland and undertook his first year’s residency at Blacktown District Hospital, Sydney, where his passion for paediatrics began. He subsequently trained in paediatrics at the Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital, Randwick (now named Sydney Children’s Hospital) with a focus on newborn medicine.
Following his completion of his Fellowship in paediatrics, Dr Lewis moved to the National Women’s Hospital, Auckland, working in newborn medicine before undertaking a Fellowship in Neonatology at the Children’s Hospital, Denver. Dr Lewis then returned to Auckland and was appointed as a Staff Neonatologist at the National Women’s Hospital. In 1984, he returned to Brisbane to accept a Staff Neonatologist position at the Mater Mothers’ Hospital, South Brisbane.
