Dr Ashok Gangasandra is an Interventional cardiologist trained in Canada. He completed his physician training in 2001 in India and then moved to UK in 2004.
He gained valuable experience in Cardiff, Wales and in Scotland in UK in the speciality of medicine and later moved to Australia in 2006. He completed internal medicine training at the Westmead hospital, Sydney in 2008 and then pursued Advanced training in Cardiology at the Townsville hospital and the Gold coast hospital, completing the training in 2011.
He did fellowships in interventional cardiology and CT coronary angiography at the esteemed McMaster University, Canada. Here he had excellent clinical training in complex coronary imaging and interventions and in research methodology. He was actively involved in clinical research.
He is a well experienced cardiologist with an extensive general medicine background. His main area of expertise is in the management (both invasive and non-invasive strategies) of Acute coronary syndromes (heart attacks). He performs coronary angiograms, angioplasties with and without stenting; complex coronary interventions; intra-coronary imaging like IVUS and OCT and functional study like FFR. His other areas of interest include CT coronary angiography, echocardiogram, cardiac monitoring and stress testing.
