Andrew completed physician training, specialising in Cardiology, at The Alfred, The Geelong Hospital and Royal Hobart Hospital, prior to undertaking an interventional fellowship at the Libin Cardiovascular Institute in Alberta, Canada. He is a staff specialist at the Royal Hobart Hospital and visiting specialist at Hobart Private. Andrew has a particular interest in improving systems of care for Tasmanian cardiac patients, and is the clinical lead for the Tasmanian STEMI Network, and Tasmanian principal investigator for the Victorian and Australian Cardiac Outcomes Registries.

Andrew is actively involved in research related to system improvement and cardiovascular disease prevention. He is a senior clinical lecturer with the University of Tasmania, PhD candidate with the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, and Regional Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
