She has been working as Staff Psychiatrist at the Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and ATOD Service full time since 2004, before expanding into private practice in August 2014.

Alex has been a strong advocate for rural and regional Queenslanders receiving the best possible psychiatric care regardless of their location or financial status. She has been active on numerous local and state-wide committees during her time at Cairns Hospital. She has been actively involved with training for psychiatry trainees as well as training medical students and junior doctors.

Alex can be contacted anytime to discuss patients of concern for advice and referral and will endeavour to make arrangements for urgent review where possible.
