Dr Sandhu arrived in Australia in 2004 and commenced work at Woomera Community Hospital where he was first introduced to outback Australia.

In 2008, he opened his own surgery as the principal GP at the Hackham Medical Centre, which continues to grow and provide services to southern Adelaide.
