Dr Csongor (pronounced Chong-gor) Oltvolgyi is a Specialist Occupational and Environmental Physician based in Townsville.
Dr Oltvolgyi is a graduate of the University of Queensland School of Medicine. After a two year residency at Ipswich Hospital, he spent 5 years working in the Royal Australian Air Force as a general practitioner and aviation medical officer. During that time he had overseas deployments to Afghanistan and the Arabian Gulf, as a clinician, aeromedical operations officer, and health planner. He then spent a further 3 years as a contractor to Defence, culminating as the Senior Contract Clinician for North Queensland in 2015-16. Since then he has worked at sea as a contractor with Australian Border Force, and as a locum to the Townsville Correctional Centre, before concentrating his time at LiveWell Healthcare. He continues to serve in the Royal Australian Air Force Reserve as Deputy Director Primary Health Care Services.
Dr Oltvolgyi is passionate about workplace health, especially rehabilitation in the workplace. He is a strong proponent of the health benefits of good work, and recognises the value of communication with the workplace for achieving durable return to work.
