Brent completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences, majoring in Psychology and Screen and Media studies. He has also completed Honours (First Class) in Psychology and a Masters of Social Sciences in Psychology (First Class). Following this Brent completed a three year Diploma of Clinical Psychology. He is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Brent is trained in several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). However, one size does not fit all, nor is any individual the same. Therefore Brent is also adapting in Mindfulness Based therapies, Schema focused therapy, Trauma related therapies and Compassion focused therapies to help customise a strengths-based approach to best suit his clients.

Brent is a proud family man. He prioritises time with family and friends and enjoying sport and work. Brent’s passion for psychology is based around helping those who want to better their life in some way. Brent has been a registered clinical psychologist since 2015. Brent works with and has particular interest in sport/performance psychology, criminal psychology and clinical psychology. He has a long history of working within Corrections, forensics and mental health. Since 2016 Brent has also worked in Private Practice. He has specialised in helping many individuals across a range of clinical difficulties including mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma, body image difficulties, grief, life adjustments, work related stress, and many others.

Brent currently works as the team psychologist for the National Australian Men's cricket team. He has previously contracted to High Performance Sport NZ, worked with Rowing New Zealand, New Zealand Boxing, the New Zealand Wheel Blacks as well as taking on varying individual clinical and sporting clients. Brent was the lead advisor (mental health and wellbeing) for the NZ Team at the 2022 Winter Olympics in China.
